About

TrueTraverseCity.com seeks to share life in Traverse City, Michigan. The writers of TrueTraverseCity love life here. We like the four seasons, we like the fact that it’s growing, but still a small town. Let us introduce the writers of TrueTraverseCity.com:

Daniel True

The driving force behind TrueTraverseCity, Dan has lived in town for 20 years. A career journalist, he can think of nothing better to do on a late night than to write. He’d jump at the chance to write all winter long in a spooky mountain resort, and he’s pretty sure he wouldn’t be as scary as Jack Nicholson. But Traverse City is Dan’s home, and he writes about it every chance he gets.

Sven Perkins

The beach is like a magnet for Sven. Traverse City is surrounded by some of the most beautiful beaches in the world, ergo Sven chose it for his home base. On summer weekends, he’s most likely soaking up sun along Lake Michigan somewhere in Leelanau County. When it’s too cold out to go topless, Sven likes to ski downhill at any of the region’s resorts or get some quiet time snowshoeing in they woods.

Sue Quinn

Sue wouldn’t think of living anywhere but in Traverse City. Well, maybe Baffin Island, but that’s another story. She enjoys the vibrant (sometimes angst-filled) political community, the hometown style nightlife, and the seasonal delights of being just a hop away from state forests and a national lakeshore.

Elizabeth Avogadro

A transplant from Colorado, Elizabeth still adores mountain life. But she’s living in Traverse City because she also adores Lake Michigan, and she swears the shores between Benzie County and Emmet County host the prettiest beaches anywhere. She gets her fill of surrogate mountain time by skiing cross-country on a ridiculously regular schedule during the winter months.

Tony Vermilion

Ah, what can we say about Tony? He’s, umm … Tony. We think the less you know about him the better.
